We put six of the most-installed Shopify review apps head-to-head on real pricing, photo and video collection, Google Shopping syndication, and how the bill actually behaves as your orders grow.
How We Tested
True Monthly Cost at Small-Store Volume
We priced each app's paid entry tier at 100, 500, and 1,000 orders per month straight from the vendor's current pricing page and the Shopify App Store listing, then flagged any per-order overage, order-block fee, or module-splitting that changes the sticker price. A "flat $15" only counted as flat if the vendor's page said the price doesn't scale with order volume.
Free Plan Usefulness
We read each free plan's current published limits and marked what a real store can actually do on it long-term (unlimited reviews, photo/video, Google rich snippets, order caps, watermark or branding requirements). A "free tier" capped at 10 review requests a month or lifetime-500 orders gets called out as a trial, not a long-term option.
Photo & Video UGC
We compared what each vendor's product page says about photo and video collection: whether it's included on the free or entry paid tier or gated to a higher plan, whether the widgets include visual formats (galleries, carousels, homepage widgets), and whether video is included or paywalled to a premium tier.
Google Shopping & Social Syndication
We checked whether each app is an official Google reviews partner and whether Google Shopping star syndication, plus Meta, TikTok Shop, and Shop App syndication, is available on the entry tier or requires an upgrade. This is the single most valuable outbound distribution channel most small Shopify stores are missing.
Pricing Predictability as You Grow
We mapped each pricing model against a store growing from 100 to 3,000 monthly orders. Flat pricing that stays the same at any volume scored highest; per-order overage models, hidden order-block fees, or Shopify App Store plans that unbundle features priced separately on the vendor site scored lower.
Setup & Migration Friction
We reviewed each vendor's documented setup flow, Built for Shopify badge status, and current migration and CSV import path from other review apps. Native Shopify app-block install with importers from the major competitors scored highest; theme-code cleanup issues or a credit-card-before-you-try wall scored lower.

What changed this year
Two shifts matter for a small Shopify store shopping for a review app in 2026.
First, pricing models have split hard. Judge.me and Junip both bill flat: “$15/month for everything” on Judge.me’s paid tier, and Junip’s Core at $29, Growth at $79, and Premium at $299 with unlimited review requests on all plans. Loox, Yotpo, Okendo, and Stamped bill per order, which quietly turns a low-looking sticker price into a bill that grows with your sales. Loox’s Convert plan covers only the first 300 orders each month, and every additional 300-order block adds $50. Okendo’s ladder runs $19/month for up to 200 orders, $119/month for Growth, $299/month for Power, and Klaviyo integration requires the Power plan at $299/month, which trips up a lot of stores that plan to upgrade to Klaviyo later.
Second, Yotpo’s Reviews & UGC pricing on the vendor site now starts at $89/month for the Starter plan (up to 500 orders), with a Free tier available up to 50 orders/month and Pro starting at $169/month. If you were counting on Yotpo as your all-in-one marketing stack, note that the current Reviews & UGC pricing page focuses on reviews, UGC, loyalty, referrals, and the Discover product, and integrations like Klaviyo and Gorgias sit on the Pro tier and above. Plan on your email or SMS platform as a separate line item.
Why we ranked Judge.me first
Because at small-store volume, Judge.me leaves the most money in your budget without leaving you short on features. The pricing is honest: unlimited reviews for free, premium features for $15/month, no hidden fees, no price hikes. The Forever Free plan includes unlimited review requests, photo and video reviews, and SEO-optimized rich snippets. On the paid tier, it syndicates to Google Shopping, Rich Snippets, TikTok Shop, Meta Shop, and the Shop app automatically, and it ships AI product and store review summaries plus reply suggestions. That combination (free unlimited reviews, flat paid pricing, and AI features that competitors gate behind higher tiers) is what most small Shopify stores actually need.
Who each one is for
If you’re a founder launching a Shopify store and you want to keep the review budget at zero until you have real traffic, install Judge.me and stay on the free plan. It genuinely handles unlimited reviews, photos, and Google rich snippets without paying. Upgrade to Awesome at $15/month flat when you want AI review summaries, referrals, or Google Shopping stars.
If your brand lives or dies on visual UGC (a beauty line, a fashion brand, a home goods store where the photo-in-the-review is the whole ad), install Loox. Its widgets look better than anything else in the category out of the box, and it drives higher photo submission rates than tools that treat photos as an add-on. Do the math on the per-order billing before you commit, because it climbs faster than the sticker price suggests.
If you want the cleanest widgets and the fastest mobile review form for a design-conscious DTC brand, Junip is the pick. Unlimited review requests, mobile-first forms, official Google Shopping, Meta Shops, Shop App and TikTok Shop partnerships, and every plan (including free) gets unlimited orders.
If you plan to run a full loyalty program alongside reviews and you’re past 200 orders a month, Okendo bundles reviews, loyalty, quizzes, referrals, and surveys under one login. Budget for Growth or Power up front. The $19 Essential tier is missing the integrations most stores end up needing.
Stamped is a harder sell for a brand-new store. Its Shopify App Store listing starts at $23/month for up to 200 orders, but jumps to $99/month at 1,000 orders and $199/month at 5,000, and Loyalty is a separate module starting at $299/month.
Where reviews fit in the rest of your customer-getting stack
A review app is one of the highest-leverage tools a small store owns, but it isn’t the whole social-proof picture. If you’re also thinking about how to capture longer-form customer stories, our guide to AI video testimonial tools for small businesses covers the shortlist for turning a happy customer into a shoppable video. If your review photos are still your own product shots and they’re what’s dragging conversion down, our ranking of AI product photography tools for small ecommerce shops is where to start. And once reviews are flowing, the next question is what your customers are actually telling you. Our guide to AI customer feedback and NPS tools for small businesses is the companion piece for turning that signal into product and marketing decisions.
A note on pricing: this category changes quickly. The vendor pages linked in the sources above are the ones that matter. Check the current price for your order volume before you sign up, especially on any tool that bills per order.
